Vey nou Lagon is an inspirational film that follows a traditional fisherman and his family as they tell the story of the Mauritian lagoons, the current state of the ocean, and how individuals can take simple actions to make a difference. The Fisherman's Son highlights Ramón Navarro, who found a voice through big wave surfing, enabling him to make a lasting difference in his hometown, Punta de Lobos, Chile.

There will also be a presentation on lifeguarding, including a discussion on the local Junior Guards program and a seasonal summer life guard program for patrolling the State Park beaches.

Doors open at 6:30 pm / films start at 7 pm at the Arcata Theatre Lounge, 1036 G Street in Arcata. $3 suggested donation.
