Want to get involved in a great community of people who care about Humboldt Bay? Become a Baykeeper volunteer!
Volunteers are the heart of Humboldt Baykeeper - it is only through the efforts of people like you that we can be an effective force for clean water and a healthy coast. Plus, volunteering with Baykeeper is fun!
King Tide Photo Initiative (winter months): Photograph specific sites along the Humboldt Bay shoreline during the highest tides of the year to document areas vulnerable to sea level rise and erosion.
Coastal Cleanups: Earth Day (April) and Coastal Cleanup Day (September) events to remove trash from beaches and riverbanks, keeping it out of the bay and ocean.
Fundraising events - Help plan benefit events and/or volunteer at the event.
Outreach Team - Represent Baykeeper at community events such as Godwit Days (April) and the North Country Fair (September).
Office Assistance - Occasional envelope stuffing sessions, database entry, etc.
Our Citizen Water Monitoring Program is currently searching for funding.
Research on policy issues is always a big need, as is grant writing. Experience required.
